Hypothesis on Paranormal Photography

Ó By Shane Walls

Since the advent of the camera and it's ever increasing usage around the world, people have been taking pictures to preserve moments in time for all immortality . And most of the time what is photographed is exactly what one expects to see on the image. But occasionally it is the obscure and unexplainable that shows, and puzzles the mass public into their own theories and explanations.

Although there is only one correct answer, everybody’s explanation to the unexplainable deserves equal merit when no concrete solution exists.

Here is mine:

After taking a quantity of photographs of subjects referred to as orbs (for lack of a better name), I have been able to collect a small amount of information on them. To begin with first I should discuss some of the obvious physical properties of the subjects. These orbs can be photographed with any regular or even digital camera with a flash, Although the orbs are invisible to the human eye, the camera flash makes then visible for that split second to imprint the image on film. Pictures taken without the flash are not very productive (I've tried). This would suggest that orbs do consist of some small volume of matter that reacts to light. Possibly phosphorescent from the ultra violet light coming from the camera flash. This would cause the orb to appear to be glowing as they do. One piece of the puzzle, but not the whole picture I'm afraid. Because inanimate matter can not move around freely or react to stimulus. Orbs do, which I will explain later. This would cause the orb to appear to be glowing as they do.

If orbs are repelled by light as a physical property, then the direction that an orb travels in should be in a direct linear line away from the camera flash. This means the orb should go straight with no deviation in it trajectory . But in reality they scatter like a pile of mice in every direction they choose best for whatever reason.

Although it appears random, this behavior requires independent thought and control over what direction each one of them is going. But to make it more interesting, the pictures taken in one direction would show them, then show nothing after they all left. But I found them again, all directly behind me. Instead of leaving, the orbs circumnavigated to my back side away from the flash of the camera. But why stay close and in view?

Although a digital camera is excellent for collecting this information because it shows the image on the picture screen, there are times when the pictures are getting a bit worrisome. The photograph on the front is a shot I took of what was behind me as I left. They were coming out of the bushes and following. Really now what do you say? Who is watching and studying who? But one thing is for sure, when I got to the house all the lights were turned on.

Other experiments have also been tested with music and campfires and such. It appears that certain music gets differing results. But for me, here the tunes of choice that get the largest response seems to be Cree nation pow wow music. A particular stimulus response that suggests intelligence. Unfortunately the reaction is only the orbs showing up and floating about and nothing else. As for the campfires the reaction is different from other light sources. I expected the campfire to drive the orbs away as a light source, but instead it seemed to attract a few of them to within ten or so feet. The content of the natural light from the open air combustion must be lacking the spectrum that drives the orbs away and makes them visible.

This forces a conclusion that they must be in fact a combination of both matter and some form of energy. The best and only comparative to this, that I can conceive, is that they maybe similar to, but not exactly the same as ball lighting. The obvious difference is that ball lighting consists of many thousands of volts of electricity and is a destructive force of nature. While an orb might have enough to power a watch. But like the ball lighting, an orb may consist of a mixture of electrical charge bound in a ionized plasma gas.

This may help explain why orbs can destabilize and form clouds of gas that are invisible to the naked eye, but not the camera. If the electrical charge becomes neutral, from grounding out or by other means, the gas looses its cohesion. The bizarre shapes that the cloud takes though, is beyond what I can explain.

Now some people who look at the pictures automatically label the orbs such things as, spirits, ghosts, angels to aliens. One church goer I know was convinced that they were demons and that I was messing with dark powers, (Unlikely Satan is so bored as to park an entire army of demons on my forest for a photo shoot). But his opinion none the less.

In conclusion I can say that myself I have captured over 200 images of this particular phenomenon and for those who want to criticize, remember these things -inanimate objects like lights or whatever you want to blame, don't run away when photographed, insects and other air debris , I checked for those. The camera lens is clean and works fine, plus other cameras give the same results. And if you think that they are fake, then come on out and prove otherwise. For those who have constructive ideas on feasible experiments or theories on the physics, chemistry and stimulus response of these orbs I would like to read your letters.

But one fact that he feels completely supports his theory is that orbs are sensitive to light.

I have never been able to photograph one in the light. I don't know if this is because the sunlight is to strong and drowns out the image or if because they're actually hiding or not around. But either way I can't get a shot of them when there is an outside light source. Which includes house lights, street lights, to flash lights

Also they respond to the camera flash. If you get a close up of one with the camera the next shot will show them promptly leaving or gone. which brings us to the biggest problem of them all, examples of intelligence and response to stimulus. Are they actually capable of thought and feeling? do they actually have the capacity of senses like sight or hearing? Is there actually an army of spirits having some sort of pow wow outside the house? It's going to be harder to sleep at night, especially if they're in the house.
